IT Business Analyst Role Overview

The Museum of Illusions is seeking skilled IT Business Analysts to support and optimize our technology solutions, specifically focusing on event ticketing, Oracle NetSuite ERP, POS (Point of Sale), and other enterprise applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams across our global network of museums to enhance operational efficiency, improve guest experiences, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business analysis within the context of the entertainment, cultural, or museum sectors, with specific expertise in ticketing, ERP, and POS systems.


What you will be doing:

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various Museum of Illusions locations to gather and document business requirements.
  • Analyze existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement that align with the Museum's mission to offer a unique and engaging visitor experience.
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications to guide the development and implementation teams.

System Implementation & Optimization:

  • Work with IT and development teams to design, implement, and test enhancements to the Museum’s business applications.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of the Museum’s systems to support operations.
  • Provide recommendations for system configurations, customizations, and upgrades that enhance visitor engagement and streamline internal processes.

Project Management:

  • Assist in planning and managing projects related to the implementation and enhancement of business applications.
  • Coordinate project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.

User Support & Training:

  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for end-users across the Museum's global network, ensuring they can effectively use the business applications.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and materials tailored to the needs of staff across various Museum of Illusions locations.
  • Serve as a key liaison between business users and technical teams to resolve issues and enhance system usability.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze data from ticketing, ERP, and POS systems to generate insights that inform decision-making and improve user satisfaction.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems to support the Museum's operational and strategic goals.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with software vendors to manage system updates, troubleshoot issues, and implement new features across the Museum’s technology stack.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, marketing, operations, and guest services, to ensure IT initiatives are aligned with the Museum's business objectives.
  • Participate in vendor selection processes for new software or system upgrades to enhance the Museum's capabilities.


What you should bring along: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of working experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the entertainment, cultural, or museum sectors.
  • Proven experience with event ticketing software, Oracle NetSuite, and POS systems.
  • Strong understanding of business processes within the context of visitor-focused industries.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, JIRA).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or similar certification is a plus.
  • Oracle NetSuite certifications or training is highly desirable.
