Global Retail Merchandiser Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Global Retail Merchandiser to play a crucial role in managing and enhancing our retail operations at various museum shops worldwide. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing shop setups, inventory management, employee engagement, and providing valuable insights to improve retail performance. This role requires frequent travel to our museum shops to ensure a consistent and exceptional retail experience.
What you would get to do:
- Regularly visit museum shops to assess the store layout, display, and merchandising strategies.
- Ensure that each shop is configured to maximize customer engagement and sales potential.
- Collaborate with local teams to implement improvements in shop design and layout.
- Monitor and control merchandise availability, ensuring that stock levels are well-maintained and meet customer demand.
- Conduct inventory assessments, reorder merchandise as needed, and manage inventory turnover.
- Review and update shop procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with company standards.
- Train and mentor shop staff on these procedures to deliver a consistent and exceptional customer experience.
- Work closely with shop employees to foster a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement engagement strategies to motivate and empower the retail team.
- Provide feedback and performance evaluations to team members
Generate regular reports on sales, inventory levels, and shop performance.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Present findings and recommendations to the Head of Retail.
- Collaborate with local shop teams to develop and execute strategies to enhance sales and profitability.
- Implement best practices and creative solutions to address any challenges in the retail environment.
- Continuously assess shop performance and suggest improvements.
- Maintain open and transparent communication with the Head of Retail, sharing updates, challenges, and successes.
- Act as a bridge between headquarters and local shops, facilitating the flow of information and resources.
What you should bring along
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in retail merchandising and management, with a focus on global operations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and engage a diverse team.
- Willingness to travel frequently to various museum shops globally.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for visual merchandising.
