Position overview:
The Data Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance, reliability, and quality of our internal data platform, ensuring seamless data availability and user satisfaction.
What you would get to do:
- Oversee the performance and reliability of our internal data platform, ensuring data quality and availability.
- Communicate with users to gather requirements, prioritize them according to business needs and priorities, and relay them to the development team.
- Manage and support our internal data engineering team, providing guidance and prioritization.
- Coordinate with an external company that continually develops and enhances our data management solution.
- Develop and maintain documentation for the data platform, ensuring ease of use and clear communication across teams.
- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies, aligning with industry best practices and applicable laws.
What you should bring along:
- You excel at bridging the gap between business and technical teams, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration, and are comfortable discussing needs with technical teams while translating them for non-technical stakeholders.
- You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data operations, or a similar role.
- You have experience managing a team and working closely with external vendors.
- You understand how critical data quality, accuracy, and reliability are to the daily operation and driving effective business decisions.
- You have experience working with Agile methodologies, ensuring that development is iterative, responsive, and aligned with business objectives.
- You have a strong technical background, with specific experience in the Microsoft data management stack, including Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and related data engineering tools, technologies, and methodologies, such as ETL processes, cloud data platforms, and development pipeline.
- You’re proactive, organized, and have a keen ability to prioritize tasks.
- Experience with event management or social media-driven environments is a plus.
