Position Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join our accounting team in Zagreb. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounting processes of several European subsidiaries, including monthly bookings and the preparation of monthly deliverables in line with group standards.
Reporting to the EU Accounting Manager, you will contribute in ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with accounting guidelines.
We are seeking a well-rounded accountant who can adapt to different situations with a positive and solution-oriented mindset. This is a hands-on position where you will be directly involved in the following responsibilities:
What you would get to do:
- Booking incoming invoices, bank statements, revenue reports, journals, and payroll.
- Process bookings on a timely basis and in accordance with our accounting guidelines;
- Reconcile vendors, customers, banks and general ledger account entries on quarterly basis
- Book FA depreciation
- Book bank transactions
- Review vendor/customer balance reconciliations;
- Book intercompany transactions per company policy, included intercompany loans;
- Monthly bookings and reconciliations of other balance sheet accounts, such as inventory, fixed assets, accruals;
- Assist with the monthly and yearly closing process;
- Ensure all business policies and processes are followed to comply with internal controls, segregation of duties;
- Any ad hoc project or process request.
What you should bring along:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and legal regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems or similar accounting software;
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with international accounting standards and familiarity with intercompany transactions would be considered as a plus
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team.
- Hands-on attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Fluency in English.
